Read the dates in SARS notices

The official SARS directory links notices R.7937 to R.7941 of 18 September 2026 to ITAC report 778. Notice R.7937 covers a period ending on 11 June 2027; R.7938 provides for a period starting the following day. Subsequent notices and the treatment of a named manufacturer appear in the same directory.

Keep the notice corresponding to the period under review in your project records and ask the customs representative to confirm the relevant date for the operation. Order, dispatch and customs procedure dates must remain separately identified.

Match the text to the material data sheet

Notice R.7937 covers flat products of iron or non-alloy steel coated with aluminium-zinc alloys, as well as certain flat products of other alloy steels coated with zinc. Its headings distinguish thickness, width and producer identity. A general description such as 'Chinese flat steel' does not adequately describe this scope.

Request a dated material data sheet and the exact product reference proposed by the manufacturer. Include composition, coating, dimensions and manufacturing site identity in the request to the customs specialist. Their answer must address that same product reference so it can be matched to the order.

Keep an approval decision usable throughout the project

Create a review point before any change of material, coating or manufacturer. The answer obtained for an initial proposal must be open to reassessment when the product specification changes. Keep the question submitted, the technical document and the written response together.

Maison Brach follows this information with your business and the parties involved in the project. The aim is to detect a difference between the product reference reviewed and the one actually entering production, then have that difference addressed before shipment.
